About the Cameroon Association
of Palm Beach County

Preserving our heritage, strengthening our community, and building a home away from home in South Florida.

Why We Exist

The Cameroon Association of Palm Beach County (CAPALM) is a community organization dedicated to uniting Cameroonians and friends of Cameroon living in the Palm Beach County area. We create spaces where our culture thrives — through events, mutual support, and shared traditions that connect generations.

Whether you arrived last month or have called South Florida home for decades, CAPALM is your community. We celebrate together, support each other, and ensure that the richness of Cameroonian heritage remains alive and vibrant far from home.

What Guides Us

🤝
Unity & Solidarity
We stand together as one community — supporting each other through celebrations, challenges, and everyday life in the diaspora.
🌍
Cultural Preservation
From Ndolé to Makossa, from folktales to fashion — we keep our traditions alive and pass them on to the next generation.
🙌
Service & Giving Back
We contribute to our local community and support development initiatives back home in Cameroon.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
Family & Belonging
CAPALM is a family. Every member, every child, every elder matters. Nobody walks alone.

Building Community Together

CAPALM organizes cultural celebrations, community cookouts, holiday gatherings, and special events throughout the year. Our events bring together families from across Palm Beach County to share food, music, and fellowship.

Beyond events, we provide a support network for Cameroonians in the area — helping newcomers settle in, connecting families, and mobilizing when a member of our community needs assistance. We also maintain a birthday calendar so no celebration goes unnoticed.

Our community sign-up board makes organizing events effortless. Volunteers coordinate food, entertainment, kids’ activities, and logistics in real time — so every gathering runs smoothly and everyone can contribute.

How It Started

The Beginning
A small group of Cameroonian families in Palm Beach County began gathering informally — sharing meals, celebrating national holidays, and supporting each other through the challenges of life in a new country.
Growing Roots
Word spread. More families joined. What started as living room gatherings became community-wide events at parks and halls — with authentic food, live music, and kids running everywhere.
CAPALM Today
The Cameroon Association of Palm Beach County is now an organized community with digital tools, regular events, a birthday calendar, and a volunteer sign-up system that keeps everything running smoothly.
